Paleo Diet: What Every Beginner Should Know

healthy-woman-eating-saladThe Paleo Diet is eating like how people ate back in the day. The experience will take you back to the diet that people had and how it has helped them survive for a long, long time. When this diet plan was first introduced in the market, not a lot of people grabbed the opportunity. It was not because it wasn’t interesting, but because people have tried a lot of diet plans that have promised to help them lose weight, only to realize that it has made them hope for something they could never achieve.
Losing weight is first the foremost the reason why people are looking for an effective diet plan. However, some diet plans help people achieve their ideal weight, but as soon as they go back to how they live their lives, they gain back all the weight they lost. Unless you give the Paleo Diet a try, you can never really say that it won’t work for you. So instead of worrying of whether or not it is something that could work for you or not, it is best to simply give it a try. After all, it is the result that you should look forward to.
The Paleo Diet is inspired by how cavemen survived the world, with very little to work with. Simply, it is the diet that will make you eat anything that you can find or hunt like meat, veggies, fruits and seeds. Cereals, pasta and candies are not included in the list of what you can eat. Instead of the usual dishes that you prepare, you can instead make the Paleo Spaghetti or a stir fry chicken dish.
Do you hate counting calories too? Perhaps everyone who has got a weight issue hates counting calories. After all, it takes the joy out of eating. And yet the truth is that counting calories, even in the Paleo diet helps you understand how you can lose all the extra calories and gain only what your body needs. When you eat a bar of chocolates that is about 250 calories, the effect that it has on your body is different when you choose to eat 250 calories worth of vegetables and fruits. So you see, counting calories is about knowing what your body should be absorbing and what your body should be shedding off.
Fortunately, with the Paleo diet, you will learn which foods contain the good calories that your body needs. Your idea of what good food is about will help you remove some types of foods in your diet plan. Instead of counting calories, you will be counting the calories that only count to achieve your ideal weight and ideal health condition too. In the Paleo diet, there is no particular type of food combinations. You can eat whatever you want as long as they fall under the food categories prescribed by the Paleo diet.
There is no calorie counting too. You can eat as much as you want until you feel full. You’ll be surprised at how much weight you can lose without even trying.

5 Health Lessons You Should Know From The Paleo

cooking-on-paleoWhen is eating like our ancestors became so fashionable? If you are eating like a hunter or a gatherer, you are more likely in the bandwagon of what is truly fashionable healthy. It doesn’t mean that you have to go into the woods and hunt or gather some veggies and fruits. You can still buy everything that you need from the grocery or the wet market. The only difference is that you will be more aware of which to choose to buy and which not to.
While the paleo diet may be popular to many, there is still a bigger portion of the population who remain unaware of what healthy eating is all about. The critics of the diet also ask about how the paleo can help in losing weight when it is all meat-heavy. The truth of losing weight is not about what you eat and what you don’t want to eat. After all, you gained all the extra weight because you ate too much of something that your body didn’t need. If you ate meat, a rich source of protein, your body will absorb the meat and turn it into muscle mass.  More muscle mass could only mean higher metabolism rate, which means burning fat more.
More importantly, the paleo diet helps people by educating them on the five basic principles of achieving and keeping a healthy body. Here they are in a list:
Processed Foods should not be part of your modern-day diet.
But it is. Everyone knows that processed foods come with particular risks on one’s health, but people eat them anyway because they’re enticed to include them in your diet. More than being part of the Paleo list of what to eat foods, the veggies and fruits and the healthy cuts of meat should all be part of the basic nutritional diet of everyone for its health benefits.
Get yourself fit with proper exercise.
The paleo diet will not be able to bring about faster, most evident results if you do not pair it up with proper exercise. While some sports can be considered as sports for fitness, it is still best to engage in more outdoor activities that can make you more active. The idea is to incorporate exercise into your regular schedule and make it part of your regular fitness routine until it becomes a part of the lifestyle.
Use salt moderately.
Because processed foods use too much salt than you should be consuming, it is best to stay away from them. More importantly, if you can limit your salt intake, as it lessens the ability of the body to shed off pounds. A low-sodium diet may make your food seem all too bland, just think of the benefits that come with less salt and higher metabolism rate.
Say hello to good fats.
Did you know that the foods included in the paleo diet come with fats too? The only difference is that the fats that avocados and lean meat includes are good for the body. They are not like trans fat that will stay in your body.
Learn to cook.
Not everyone will be on a diet that you are, so learn to cook for yourself. Not only will it be another useful skill, but it can keep you from consuming what is not good for your body.

The Paleo Diet: Does It Really Work?

paleo-food-800x547Have you heard of the Paleo Diet? Whether you are trying to lose weight or trying to give your health a boost, you must have stumbled upon the Paleo Diet. It is considered as the most famous diet plan in 2013 and the whole of 2014. And because it has become so popular, a lot of people became curious with the results that it will be able to deliver. Perhaps you too have shown a little curiosity about what the Paleo Diet is about and why others couldn’t stop raving about it.
And although a lot of health professionals are still wondering whether the diet is truly beneficial more than it being harmful, much like how they thought of the other diet plans that came before the paleo. Just before you dismiss the idea of this diet altogether and give in to the doubt, here are some scientific facts about the diet that will convince you to give it a try. After all, Science does not lie. It only reveals true results:
Fact 1: The Paleo Diet imitates the diet of our ancestors. Hunting and gathering are the two means of finding food for the survival of our ancestors and this is exactly how the foods in the Paleo list have been chosen. It is either they are food that can be hunted or food that can be gathered.
Fact 2: The Paleo Diet will save modern day humans from suffering from lifestyle diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and even obesity. Since these diseases are a result of the modern human diet, the Paleo diet aims at cutting the risk of developing these diseases by prescribing a healthier set of meals to eat.
Fact 3: The Paleo Diet is basically an advocate of the diet wherein processed foods are not included. Your favourite canned and processed foods are a big no-no to the paleo diet. Instead, there is healthier alternative suggested, to help clean up your system.
Fact 4: The Paleo Diet will take you back to eating only the basics. You can eat meat, eggs, fish, seeds, fruits, nuts, and vegetables. There is no room for those processed foods in this diet, primarily because of the process that the food goes through adds more unwanted fat and harmful ingredients.
Fact 5: The Paleo Diet helps regulate the sugar level of a diabetic. Because the diet only allows the basic foods, which means the sugary stuff are out of the picture, a diabetic can control sugar levels without trying too hard (not to mention not using medication too).
Fact 6: The Paleo Diet is known for the weight loss effect that it has. Because instead of feeding your body what you want, the diet will encourage you to eat only what your body can consume. In the process, the body will burn the excess fat, trim down the waist line and make you the healthier version of yourself.
The Paleo diet works if you make it work. It all depends upon the choices that you make, especially on the foods that you eat. Now, can you make it work?
